Does Windows 8 include Security Essentials, Defender?

Question

For those of you who already have Windows 8, is WIndows Defender still packaged in the base?

I read that Windows Defender is available on Vista and Windows 7 just in case you have no other anti virus installed.  It basically provides real time protection (in this case) as a stop gap. Lots of users choose to use MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) to protect their machines and when it becomes the AV of choice, Windows Defender is automatically disabled.

Microsoft Security Essentials has been renamed Windows Defender. Windows 8 is installed with this.
