For those of you who already have W8, is WIndows Defender still packaged in the base?
I ask this becasue I have read on an MS forum that Windows Defender is there on XP,Vista and W7 just incase you have no other AV installed. It basically provides real time protection (in this case) as a stop gap. Lots of users chose MSE as their AV and when it becomes the AV of choice, Windows Defender is automatically disabled.
I have also read on a security forum that MSE is now WIndows Defender in W8. I do not have W8, so I was hoping that someone with W8 could let me know if this is indeed true.

That is a very interesting read. Thank you for the link. An interesting move from MS.
