A vista system with Linksys mini port may not work properly

Symptoms

When you open device manager and expand the linksys miniport pptp you get the following message:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory (Code 38)."

Diagnosis

Thinkpad systems with Linksys miniport running Windows vista 

Solution

A Driver release from  have fixed this problem.

3.0.10.0 Driver date: 1/18/10

After installing this driver, under driver details the two files should show

netr28u.sys File version 3.00.10.0000

vwifibys.sys File Version 6.1.7600.16385
