Just rebooted after installing this months Windows patches.
Now I get the login screen, however there are no users to click.

I have the fingerprint software installed and working perfectly for the last 12 months.
I can swipe finger and the dialogs appear that say it was successful, but nothing happens.
I cannot login to either safemode because they require authentication as well.
I have tried to disable preauth via fingerprint in the bios, no luck.
Is there any way to manually bypass this fingerprint gina and get to a Ctrl+Alt+Del windows gina? I am pretty skilled, I can boot to a PE environment and get to the harddisk if I knew what to disable or rename to bypass the fingerprint software.
I do have a valid weekly backup via the Lenovo backup utility from 5 days ago. But I'd rather find what is going on here if possible.
Thanks!

Support would not help me since this appear to be software related. However they hinted that if the fingerprint software cannot operate properly then it should pass through to the standard msgina. Does anyone know how to "break/disable" the fingerprint authentication software? I have access to the drive via UBCD. Possibly renaming a directory or the dll/exes involved with the fingerprint authentication may do the trick?

Well. It turns out to be easier than I was trying to make it. I tried renaming the "ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software" folder but all that did was take away the fingerprint function. I was still facing a blank Welcome screen. But I found on a forum somewhere that CTRL+ALT+DEL-DEL will bypass the welcome screen and sure enough it did.
I was able to login to the desktop, but now it does look like this was all caused by disk corruption the hard disk is failing and I'm losing bits of data quickly.
