XP and IE9

XP users ... 

Microsoft will be introducing a new version of Internet Explorer (IE9) ... coming soon.

According to Microsoft, IE9 will not run on XP systems.  IE8 will be the last version supported on XP.  

IE9 is being developed for Vista and WIn 7. ..  HTML5 support,  CSS3, SVG graphics and some other features.  The new IE uses advanced GPU resources which are not present in XP.

Good news though (and I do not know why FF can do this on XP and IE can not)  ====>   Firefox  on an XP system can access HTML5 and all CSS3. You can not uninstall IE (and you really do not need to do so), to use Firefox.

Thanks for the post.
The whole point, so that you understand Microsoft a bit is, that there are already plans to stopp supporting XP. Althought it will not happen this, nor next year, the XP system are history for microsoft and they are focusing on the new products.
So much for the pint, why is this not possible to support it on XP.

It would be, from the marketing perspective unlogical to release an new version of IE, or any other Micorosft application, for which they guarantee full support, and it will cause some trouble on (in the future) on XP, which they no longer will support.

Hope you understand my point.
Please keep in mind: Where is the will, there is also the power to do it.

Support for Windows XP, SP2 expires July 13, 2010.

As there are a significant number of home users, corporations, government institutions, colleges and schools still on XP, it is highly unlikely that XP/SP3 will go end-of-service any time soon.  Win 7 is not a priority with these folks.

the only info, that I have is form the MS Web.

So that might be a long discussion about the support time of XP
