shortcuts to internet sites

On my desktop, I would like to have the internet site icons representing shortcuts to the sites instead of the generic microsoft "e" icon. I can do this on other computers.

To create a short cut on your desktop, you can right click on the page and create a shortcut and select to put it on your desktop. If you want to change the icon click on the icon and select properties and there should be a button which says change icon.
