Are you able to reassign the touchpad's middle button to click like a traditional Middle click on mices so I could use that button to say, open a link in a new tab on Chrome.
I find the middle button only able to just scroll quite useless.

I had the middle click working, and after updating to the latest ultranav it's gone and I can't remember how to get it back if the option is still there. Considering that the latest ultranav has still not fixed the issue with the touchpad and trackball being disabled when switching from tablet to laptop, I am thinking I want to revert back to the previous version. Frustrating that something as simple as these things are not working.

Ok, good news. I got middle click to work with the latest UltraNav. Here's how:
Open UltraNav settings. Fn+F8 -> "Manage settings"
On the UltraNav tab (far right), go to settings under TrackPoint,
Then go to settings under "Choose scrolling or magnifying glass function"
Change scrolling type to "smooth"
Click Ok and Apply
Now when you use the middle button in your browser, it works like a middle click opening the link in a new tab.

There has been an option to set the action for the middle button of the touchpad in one of the previous driver versions.
After the last update the middle button of my T400 stopped acting as a middle button, too.
I'm so used to this middle button in the browser. You totaly saved my day!!!!
