Hi!
I'm suffering from an annoying bug on my new X220t. The bug is apparently identical to the one reported at http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Lapt
Details of my configuration:
- Fingerprints registered on Windows 7 using the fingerprint software
- Predesktop authentication activated in the BIOS
- Power-on password activated in the BIOS
Steps to reproduce the bug:
- Start the X220t
- Swipe finger as requested
- Enter power-on password for the first time (crossed-hand sign shown)
- X220t boots into Win7
- Shut down X220t
- Power on again
- Swipe finger as requested
- X220t asks for password AGAIN (crossed-hand sign shown)
The same passwords as in the other bug report fail:
8g3hwf7vuxq9
s39wfeqm0t26
My 24-character password also fails.
Passwords which succeed:
abcdefgh
abcefghijklmnopqrstuvwx
Can you please confirm the bug and issue a fix?
This is a very disturbing bug to find on not one but two business laptops...
Best regards,
LP

What BIOS version are you using? The issue was fixed starting in BIOS version 1.18 for X220...
- (Fix) Fixed an issue where password authentication might be failed by using
fingerprint depending on the password string.

The updater is hopelessly behind and I don't know why. You can get the latest BIOS directly from the support website.
