Batteries shelve life

We currently have 7  X60 tablets, my boss want me to purchase replacement batteries to have on hand.  I have been trying to find the shelve life for the battery but have not been successful.  Since the batteries are expensive I am not sure if we should waste the money.

Well, batteries are always a sensitive issue for notebook vendors, as can also be undoubtly seen when looking after the given warranty times for notebook batteries. So I believe it's difficult to tell at all, since this depends in turn on a bunch of related factors, like when produced, how long did they lie around at reseller places etc. - Thus I doubt you will get some concrete or reasonable answers to this question.
