I have the Sierra Wireless MC8355-Gobi 3000 WWAN Mobile Broadband Card factory installed in my X220T. It came with an ATT SIM card installed in the slot, although I have not activated the account.
For coverage reasons and the fact that a prepaid month to month data plan is available from Verizon, I would prefer to use Verizon.
What do I need to do to change to Verizon? Is it a simple matter of replacing the ATT SIM card with a Verizon SIM; and then activating the service?
Newbie to this, and need some guidance. TIA!

Hi Dutch!
Use ThinkPad Mobile Broadband to activate. It's in the factory install, and you can get it here:

If you're just using Verizon in the US, you don't need a SIM card.
Tell us how it goes.

Thanks for the response. I do have whatever software came on the computer; and I vaguely remember seeing something like you reference.
So I just remove the ATT SIM card, and activate Verizon with no SIM card in the slot?

Yes. The only reason you would need a SIM from Verizon is if you were going to use them to roam internationally on GSM networks. Verizon uses CDMA in the US, which does not require a SIM card.
