I think the reason why we have those weird tracking listing is because of  time and date difference in china/us. it's possible that it leaves china on May 7 5pm, arrive in USA same date but in the morning, etc.

This is what I was told by the UPS International representitive that I spoke to.  She told me that this is normal with all the Lenovo packages as well as other packages coming from overseas.

Just ordered an X61 yesterday.  Through the process, 2-3 weeks was the ship date, then after ordering, became 6/18 (ouch). Is this perhaps because of an accessory?  I really wanted this for my wife by the end of the month, think there's any hope?  I went through the thread and saw some folks having good success with shipping but now I'm not so sure.  Figure I'll cancel the order in a few, was dopey enough to ask for expedited shipping hoping it would actually ship in a week or two.

FTJoe,

Did you enter a sales rep ID when you were ordering?  If so, contact that sales rep and ask them about your estimated ship date.  It is most likely incorrect.  If you didn't enter a rep ID, just call customer service and ask about it.  My sales rep said that the ship date after order was incorrect and that he would get me the correct one, but before he could even email me back I got an email from Lenovo saying my laptop had shipped.

more often than not, it ships earlier than expected.
 
what accessory do you think may have caused the delay?
 
i suggest you call the customer support

Thanx for the replies - no sales rep and I was just guessing that maybe an accessory caused the delay.  Makes no sense to show 2-3 weeks then bang the date out 6 weeks.  I'll call cust serv in the morning.

Well Custserv has no idea, might in a day or two but they already shipped the accessories so that makes cancelling the order problematic.  Just don't understand why it showed 2-3 weeks through the ordering, making me think I might get it sooner or at least in three weeks which would have been okay and then changed to six weeks out.  I was careful not to pick anything that would cause a delay (I thought).

usually building the machines (according to other forums) takes from 3-5 working days, especially if yours is a CTO. during this time, customer reps according to them do not have access to when the machine's going to ship, not until it is done and is about to be shipped.
 
you can expect an update when you call in a couple of days i believe

Hi there,

Any chance I can get a tracking number for my order?  The number is 4240029556

I have two emails saying it is shipped so now I am chomping at the bit.  Hopefully it arrives before I head out next week.

you can call lenovo and ask for the tracking number. they should also give you this via email after a day or two so you might want to wait
