!!Pictures!! OCZ Nocti 120GB mSATA SSD mini-review

[ Edited ]

Hey guys! I just got the 120GB Nocti in earlier this week. Installation was a breeze, and it's working great. I have it installed with Windows 8 Developer Preview right now. Boots up in less than 10 seconds!

Installed inside right next to the WLAN card:

AS SSD Benchmark:

AS SSD Benchmark (IOPS View):

Not bad for such a small chip, but I was kinda expecting more with the Sandforce 2181 chipset. I wonder if its something in the X220 that's holding it back...

that's really not that good as OCZ says... even the cheaper Mydigitalssd's bullet proof is much faster.

What's DOS?

He sait he was running OS from the disk. If you run OS from it the benchmarks will always be lower.

andrewma: Yes the ASSSD sequential is quite bad, but the 4K is faster than the mydigitalssd.

hermith: I've ran the benchmark before installing Win8 when the disk was completely empty. The results only changed by 3% after the OS install, so the impact of the OS install was minimal.
