Help _ I am not very techie. I broke my screen today through rank stupidity. Everything else works. Lenovo are proposing crazy price to replace so that's out of the question. I can get a replacement screen for a fairly reasonable price but the part no is 13N7096 rather than FRU 93P5609 that Lenovo told me I need. 13N7096 is described as IBM Lenovo 12.1" screen for an X60 and X61 Notebook Does anyone know if this is compatible? Would I be mad to attempt replacing it myself? Thanks

Hi KathWP,
Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
You could check the suitable part for your TP via this link
It will bring you to a page which contains the document (hardware maintanance manual) for your ThinkPad.
Hope this helps.

93P5609 is the part number for an SXGA+ tablet display. 13N7096 is the FRU number for an XGA notebook display. these parts are not interchangeable.
if you have an SXGA+ display in an X61 Tablet then you need to purchase FRU 13N7235.
to make sure you get the correct part, what is the machine type and model number of your system? it's on the barcode decal on the bottom and in the form of 7762-94U, 7769-CTO, etc. please do not post your serial number. ![]()

i used to own that exact same system. you definitely need to find FRU number 13N7235.
just be careful when shopping online for this panel as a lot of LCD resellers sell the bare panel without the writing surface. make sure what you get comes with the direct-bonded writing surface installed.
