Touch causing issues while using pen

The Lenovo power management application keeps starting up when my arm rests on the screen. This usually occurs while I'm writing so I would think the pen would have disabled touch. I do use touch to move around the pages in Onenote so disabling it wouldn't be very useful to me.

Is there a way outside disabling touch to prevent the system from registering inappropriate input via touch?

only way out here is to  disable touch when not required
