Virtual PC Performance on Windows 7 64-bit X220 Tablet

I am experiencing very poor Virtual PC performance on my new X200 tablet. I have tried existing VHDs as well as brand news Windows 7 VM's created on the machine. VHD's that launch in 30 seconds on my two year old Toshiba tablet take over a minute to launch on my new X220 tablet. That Toshiba Portege M780 rates multiple points lower on the Windows Experience Index than the X220t. Lenovo loads more drivers and services on their out-of-box machine than I have every seen, so I can't help wondering if there is some driver or application impacting VM performance. I did uninstall and reinstall the latest version of RapidBoot (saw that post), but that didn't help the VM performance. Anyone else out there run VMs on their X220t? Thanks, C.C.

The Virtual PC (Windows Virtual PC) version for Windows 7 is much worse than older Virtual PC 2007. Have you enabled HW virtualization in BIOS ? It is required for Windows 7 host system. I've used Virtual PC 2007 on Windows XP host many years but since it is not supported by Windows 7 host anymore, I've moved to VirtualBox and haven't found any problem yet.

I can also confirm that the Hardware Virtualization is disabled in the BOIS by default. You have to enable it.

I am using VMWare Player and it performs amazingly on the X220T. Even installed Windows 8 Preview and the Touch screen , Camera and other hardware worked.
