X200 Tablet Keyboard Durability Issue....

I've had this x200 Tablet for about two weeks, and well, one of the white plastic connector under the left shift key got disconnected from the keyboard base yesterday. I am quite puzzled by how it actually fell out of the aluminum retainers on the keyboard base.  Looking at the white plastic connector and the aluminum mount points on the keyboard, everything looks perfect (no evidence of any physical damage or forceful removal), not sure how it even got disconnected, I am fairly gentle on the keys.

Luckily, It was fairly easy to remount the white connector and the left shift key back into aluminum mounts and so far its working well.  However, I bought this tablet for school and I'd hate to have the left shift key or any other key for that matter fall off during assignments, or worse, on a timed exam.

My question is, has anyone else had this happen to them? Is this common?Should I be looking at a keyboard replacement?

Thanks in advance!

Re: X200 Tablet Keyboard Durability Issue....

Yup...  my X key came off one day.   No explanation why.   After examining how it works, I was able to put it back on.  It didn't look broken.  It's stayed put since.  As far as long-term keyboard durability, I'm not too optimistic.

LOL.

I shouldn't be laughing because i have a feeling it might just happen to me as well.

Did you call support to get it fixed? Do you have the depot warranty? If So, will lenovo support just ship you a keyboard, instead of sending it in?

Re: X200 Tablet Keyboard Durability Issue....

I've replaced my keyboard under the TPP.   They shipped me a new one (<24 hours between phone call having it very surprisingly) and and didn't require the old one to be shipped back.  So if I need spare keycaps I know where to get them.

Thanks! I hope they can do the same for the regular depot warranty.
