Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with my Lenovo X200 Tablet. When I first purchased it, it came with Windows Vista. I just received the free upgrade in the mail recently and decided to do a clean install. I believe that I have installed every driver there is, but my laptop won't dim as much as it used to. Prior to the clean install, on the lowest setting it was always too dark for me. Now the lowest setting is too bright. Is there anything I can do about this?
Furthermore, I have no display when adjusting the brightness or volume. It's not a big deal, but I'd prefer it back. Any ideas?
Thanks in advanced everyone.

Try the new Hotkey driver package?

I just fixed the on-screen display problem myself (no thanks to Lenovo support who said they could not help me because I upgraded this one month old laptop from Vista to Win7). I went to the support page for the X200T after setting it for OS=WINDOWS 7, TYPE=7450 (link below) and downloaded the HOTKEY program. However this only got the onscreen volume to work. What was also required was to download and install the Intel video driver that was there. When you install it, it will tell you you are installing an OLDER driver. Say OK. If you do not, then you will not get the on screen brightness display to work.
Good luck.

If you follow the instructions from Lenovo which you can find at their website you would have found the info there as well. For a laptop it's normal that you need some drivers from the laptop manufacturer for all features to work properly. Just like Microsoft support won't teach you how to write a letter in word i guess Lenovo support won't teach you how to clean install Windows with the required drivers, but they do provide documents with instructions and the information needed.

I would recommend to use Lenovo System Update to download and install driver and tools from Lenovo that will save you a lot of time. It's also great and easy to use when checking for new drivers and software from Lenovo.
