X201 Remote Desktop will not span multiple monitors

I have an X201 tablet running Windows 7.  I have never been able to successfully span multiple monitors when I remote into the system.  I've never had this problem with other lenovo laptops (none of which were X201s).  This is a huge inconvience since I use multiple monitors in the office and at home.  Any suggestion would be greatly apprieciated.
