I have a X220 Tablet, as to software, it's fully up to date.
My problem is: No matter what I type, the machine is skipping letters.
The sentence above would typically look like this:
My problem is: No matter what I type, the me is skipping letters .
It's so bad that I cannot work with the machine, so this is written on my Vaio. The problem is seen in every program, also Word 2010. It's not single letters, but a sequence of typing that vansihes into thin air.

welcome to the forums.
could you try with an external keyboard and see if the skipping of letters occurs or not .
also, try uninstalling the keyboard drivers and let windows install its generic drivers. see if that makes any difference.
curious to know, did this occur before or after updating your unit ?

To make sure it ain't an hardware problem, download Ubuntu for free and you can load it to an USB or SD-card and restart the computer. In BIOS, change the boot order so the USB will boot first and a menu will pop-up before Windows loads. There you can choose to "Try Ubuntu on this computer" and it will load Ubuntu without doing anything to the computer.
When Ubuntu has loaded so can you try several things with the computer. Wireless, mousepad, trackpad, keyboard etc. The good thing is that Ubuntu mainly uses completely different drivers and softwares than Windows. In other words, if you have the same problem in Ubuntu as in Windows so is the hardware with a very high probability broken.
