X220 with docking station and Intel 310 still takes ages to boot

Hi,

some weeks ago, there was a bios update coming, that fixed the boot time of the X220 in combination with msata-ssds in the umts-port (in my case a Intel 310). When I'm starting the laptop itself, this issue is fixed for me. But if it is connected to the docking station, it still takes ages to boot. Is there anything I can do? Or is this still a known issue (and does Lenovo know about it)?

Thanks,

Martin

hey uwcct,

curious to know, when you have the x220 connected to the docking station; is there any peripherals added to it? such as an external harddrive, mouse, keyboard, etc ?

if there is, could you remove all of those and try again. For we believe it is this added peripherals that is connected to the docking station is causing the slow down.

why? it is because windows is busy loading up the drivers for the devices that is connected to it.

Re: X220 with docking station and Intel 310 still takes ages to boot

Hi,

Windows loading time is not the issue, its the time that is spent in the standard BIOS (or in my case UEFI) screen.

But still, I tested whether the peripherals are the reason. In general, they increase the boot time just a very little, with one big exception: The Logitech H530 Headset! If I have this one connected right from the start, the time spent in the bios screen increases for about 15 sec. But JUST, if I connect it to the docking station. If it is connected directly to the laptop, there is no difference in the startup time.

Maybe it is somehow because of the build in soundcard? But still, there difference between connecting it to the docking station or connecting it to the laptop is very strange.

Do you guys have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,

Martin
