X41 Tablet Clean Install Windows 7 - Partition Advice

Hi,

 

I have an X41 tablet and want to install Windows 7. I have put 7 on my flash pen but there are two partitions when I come to install. IBM_PRELOAD and IBM_SERVICE. I believe the SERVICE partition is the recovery partition, is that right? Can I just over right the PRELOAD partition with 7 and then if I don’t like windows 7 still restore from the SERVICE partition?

 

Or if that’s completely wrong or don’t make sense can someone please advise the best steps to enable me to keep the what I call “recovery” partition to enable me to reinstall XP and all the ThinkPad utilities from the hard drive.
