X61 to X61T modding? Possible?

Hello,

I recently bought a new motherboard for a X61 Tablet that had a dead RAM slot, but because of ignorance perhaps, I accidentally bought a mb for an X61.

My question is, is there a way to mod the X61 motherboard, so that it will have tablet abilities? How difficult is it? I've already put it in the X61 housing and it fits, so that at least isnt a problem. I have some soldering experience, but am no expert.

I don't think soldering is the issue. The one you have doesn't have circuitry for the pen switch, but more important, they have a different bios image, so I really doubt that the touch/pen signals from the digitizer will be recognized. If you were closer to San Francisco, I would offer a trade. I usually have one of each in stock, but right now, I have 2 tablets and no x61 notebook boards.
