X61: wifi switch requires restart to be enabled [ Edited ]

hello, ive been struggling with this issue since i received my x61.

located on the front right edge of the base on the x61 is the wireless radio switch. any time i switch it off it works instantly and disables all radios. like it should. but in order to have the radios work again i cant just turn the switch back on. it never works. i have to go and restart the machine and all is well.

is there anything i can do so that this feature would not require a restart to enable the radios?

I also have the X61 and the instant I flip that switch a dialog box pops up stating that it is turning on the wireless radio.   Should not have to reboot, now sometimes I have to go to stand-by (close the lid) in order to have the wireless work properly but that is a different ThinkVantage Access Connections issue.

this same issue was driving me crazy and all i had to do to fix it was to launch the lenovo Productivity Center

under the Resource Center section of the menu, Wireless, Power On/Off Wireless Radio.  After (re)enabling this, I no longer had any problems, even between reboots.
