X61t: Found New Hardware (Other devices-Bluetooth Peripheral Device) but install fails..

The message I'm getting is:

Insert the disk that came with your Bluetooth Peripheral Device

although the latest SW is installed

The install fails also If  trying to use (unpacked 7vbv04ww.exe):

x:\tmp\ThinkPad X61 Tablet 7764-CTO\Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows Vista - ThinkPad\un\Win64\brcm\bcbthid64.inf
x:\tmp\ThinkPad X61 Tablet 7764-CTO\Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II for Windows Vista - ThinkPad\un\Win64\brcm\Bcbtums-vista64-brcm.inf

In device manager there are 2 installed devices under Bluetooth Radios:

Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (oem43.inf:Broadcom.NTamd64:BCBTUsbDriverInstallXP:6.1.0.4100:usb\vid_0a5c&pid_2110)
ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate (bth.inf:Microsoft.NTamd64...1:BthEnum:6.0.6001.18064:bth\ms_bthbrb)

and 2 not installed devices under Other devices which Windows of course keeps trying to install every once in a while:

BTHENUM\{8e771301-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&000f

BTHENUM\{a2157972-3541-4d0b-a551-b3abe639f526}_LOCALMFG&000f

which I can not get installed by the means of LENOVO provided SW/DRIVERS under this Vista Ultimate x64 OS

Unfortunately Broadcom (website DL) provided: btwinitialupdate.exe states that the device is not supported by it althogh the device is Broadcom BCM2045B based.

The device was/is functional with Vista default drivers, but I could not use SE headset to work that way and had other isssues.

Any ideas welcome!

Re: X61t: Found New Hardware (Other devices-Bluetooth Peripheral Device) but install fails..

Dear Alan,

Thank you for your response.

We have looked further into your query and we can confirm that the drivers you require will need to be provided by your computer manufacturer.

When the handset is connected to the computer via bluetooth, the drivers for the handset do not show up in Device Manager.

The advised drivers you require are the initial bluetooth drivers of your PC.

We apologise that we are unable to assist you further.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

Hello.

Thanks for pointing out the possibility to install the software and
where to find it. Unfortunately I already had the the latest version
installed when first contcted you.

I now wonder if it's even possible to id a connected device at all (by
manufacturer/SE support):

> BTHENUM\{8e771301-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_LOCALMFG&000f
> BTHENUM\{a2157972-3541-4d0b-a551-b3abe639f526}_LOCALMFG&000f

What are these two devices? Can you please find out for me what
SonyEricsson devices these are?

I have previously paired my SE Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS980
with the laptop and it seems to be installed. Do you have a driver for
the headset as I dont think I got/have a CD with it. Could that be the
problem? Can you verify that my headset and phone are in fact
compatible with Lenovo x61 tablet (TYPE 7764-CTO)

FYI my phone and headset work together just fine; the BT GPS receiver
(came with the phone) works with my phone just fine; the BT GPS
receiver works with my laptop; The phone seems to work with the
laptop; I have managed to hear PC sounds through the headset a couple
of times and although I can pair it most of the time and it seems to
be connected from time to time I can not make it work most of the time
and the couple of times it happened, the sound quality was awful and
ended and since then I have not managed to hear anything throught the
headset from the PC and I can not select the headset as a sound device
on the PC the last time I tried.

Can please provide drivers for the headset?

Sony Ericsson support says in above correspondance that it's up to manufacturer (LENOVO) to supply the drivers for the bluetooth headset I'm using!

I don't suppose Lenovo support has a solution to my problem..

PS. Funniest thing.. there is no !*&^$#% support email provided for the customer! When it comes to Lenovo support all that is provided is useless troubleshooting section and advertisement on the page:

Lenovo Forums

Get help at Lenovo Forums New!

Lenovo Forums

Get help at Lenovo Forums New!

All "right" then..

Tanks for at least reading this (unfortunately no hopes toward possible solutions whatsoever :smileyhappy:, not.
