problem with fingerprint reader after latest lenovo update

i recently updated my lenovo x201 tablet with the latest lenovo updat. However after ressetting the computer, fingerprint reader no longer works on logging in on websites such as yahoomail. instead of the normal "swipe your finger" message, it says

 

"the requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but the device is not installed. Please make sure the device is connected and retry the operation."

 

what happened with update?is there a way to remove updates from lenovo?

I have also installed the latest. Now when I try to log into Windows with the FP reader, I get a green blinky light, but no login. Exploring now.
