I have this same problem with the 32-bit version of Windows 7. I have tried to re-install the drivers directly from the support website, but this has caused no change. If I run the trackpoint button test in the ThinkVantage Toolbox, the buttons show that they are being depressed. However, I can't make the buttons do anything during normal use.
edit: I uninstalled both the lenovo and symantec ultranav drivers, restarted the computer, and then ran windows update. The top buttons have started working again. I found this solution in another post... but I can't seem to find it now. Good luck.
