x220 A24 tablet doesn't recognize external monitor

Brand new out of the box tablets that doesn't recognize the external monitor. Running win7 32bit and when I called for support they told me it'z the system board...I have six of these paper-weights and I'm having a hard time believing it's the system board, any suggestions??

which external monitor are you using, and how you are connecting to the external LCD? Displayport or VGA? any dongles involved. Does the screen work with other devices that use the same connection.

External monitor is a Dell P2411 & connected via VGA. We bought these monitors specifically for the tablets and have not tried to connect any other monitor.

I think there is a possibility that the single monitor is the root of the problem. Try another computer that has a known good vga port and connect to the monitor.
