x230t keyboard = FULL size?

Can someone please confirm that the X230t keyboard is FULL sized?

I had an X61t and the keys were slightly smaller than the T61 keys. I noticed when typing fast, then measured and found the keys to be about 1/16th inch narrower, adding up to about 3/8" difference in width across the home row. I had seen the X61t referred to as having a fullsize keyboard.

Thanks,

Are you sure about that? I had X61T for over 4 years, I didn't notice there is a size difference.

Since Caps lock and Enter keys can be different in length, I measured from 'A' to ',' and it measures 26mm. My desktop keyboard (Coolermaster Quickfire Rapid, standard mechanical keyboard) is also the same length, so I think this is a standard size keyboard. Unless you are talking about the surface area of each keys.

Re: x230t keyboard = FULL size?

I compared the X61t with the keyboard from a widescreen 14" T61.  Any of the 14" or 15" Thinkpad T or W series should have the full-sized keyboard.

On the X61t the Backspace and other keys are obviously narrowed; I don't mean those.  I mean from, say Q across to P or A across to L is different... slightly.  At high speeds, my accuracy was off.  That's how I found it.

Unfortunately, I can't buy an X230t if the keyboard is not full-sized.  For kicks, I type competitively, and small differences are worse than large differences for motor learning.  I believe I have just reached a new level of nerd by admitting that hobby publicly.

Does anyone have an X230t and also, say, a T430 to compare?

Re: x230t keyboard = FULL size?

Oops, I meant to say I measured my X230T keys "A" to ",".
X230T is 26mm, and so is my desktop keyboard.

X61T was a 4:3 12.1" screen, so it had it's restriction on the width. These day's 12.5" wide screen has much longer width, so they aren't really restricted by width anymore. So it might be a more true full size keyboard. To me, X61T X61S X220 X220T X230T is all full size.

Re: x230t keyboard = FULL size?

since the X200/t, Lenovo have already implemented the full size keyboard on the ThinkPad series.

Starting from X220, it also shared the same keyboard as the T and W series.
