90w adapter leads to unusable, jumpy touchpad

OT, but the adapter signals to the machine? That's neat. Does it pass any useful data we can see? Like actual wattage draw?

No..... the slim adapter radiates a RF noise of some sort which is impacting the machine.

Your are exactly right. I have the same problem in my X220i and Google about it. It exactly produce the same problem and result as other user in this forum... so amazing the pointer stop jumpy when I touched the metal at display.

Should Lenovo make a recall or? It is obviouly a defective product!

It's all a big joke. Either the moderators have stopped visiting the forum or hides from this thread. The touchpad jumps crazy as soon as i:

1. Plug in the AC-adapter

2. Plug in an ethernet cable

There's probably some serious flaw in the design of the chassis/mainboard, transferring electricity to the touchpad.

The vendors are still working on a firmware fix for this. Engineering have tested the earlier firmware provided by them however problem still persist thus vendors are still working on it.

Thanks JameZ, hopefully you can work it out before the snow ball rolling bigger. The vendor Synaptics in this case they should fix this ASAP.

Just got an X220 with the slim battery.  I had the issue and since the power supply was emiting a crackling sound I contacted support, and they sent me a replacement battery.  You would think that after 1/2 year of the issue being on their radar, you would think that the support personnel would know about it and not send a replacement.

Can't believe that after 1/2 year there we are still in the same situation.

Our department pushed and pushed and finally received the OK to use Lenovo laptops, but with the amount of issues that we are having and the lack of good support, will likely go back to using Dell.

do you mean the power supply was buzzing and popping? I assumed that was normal for my slim adaptor or have I got it wrong?!

Update: The mouse gets jumpy for connecting a secondary monitor through the displayport. So, all? connections made to the computer makes the mouse pointer go crazy.
