90w adapter leads to unusable, jumpy touchpad

I too have this problem. I'll describe it quickly if it can help solve the problem. Thinkpad x220, bought mid-october, Canada, 65W adapter, 42T4419. Cursor giggles when computer is on a table and plugged in; doesn't do it when I'm running on the battery or holding it in my hands. Great laptop otherwise

Oh WOW.  Finally this problem has been brought up!

I have an X201 Tablet and I have a very similar problem when I have my 90W Ultraslim adapter plugged in.

The issue I have is with the multitouch screen.  If I touch the screen with my finger at any point while that Ultraslim adapter is plugged in, the screen will literally go nuts.  It acts as though I'm tapping, zooming, scrolling, whatever on its own.

If I have it on the dock with my 65W adapter or just have the 65W adapter plugged in directly, it works fine.

I've had this ultraslim adapter since last December and Lenovo has never been able to fix it.  They even tried to tell me my digitizer was defective and I needed to send my computer back.  What a joke.

I checked for months on this forum for others with the issue and I just decided to Google it for an answer after my screen went nuts once again.  I hope Lenovo comes up with a solution to this in the near future.  IT HAS BEEN DRIVING ME INSANE.

To be honest, i haven't read all 100+ posts, so pardon me if it has been brought up before - i will just add, that when i use my wireless Logitec mouse (receiver in USB) and the 90W powersupply cable is too close to either the mouse or the USB/receiver, the cursor does wierd things on the screen.

So here's the dumb question..

Are these power bricks being plugged into properly grounded power sockets?

The power cord could be acting as an antenna and radiating RF.

(I said it was a dumb question!)

The power adapter in question is a doubled insulated type that has a two wire mains lead, so there is no power-ground extended to the adapter.

The issue appears to be something to do with the Synaptics UltraNav driver (aka vendor in messages above), and Lenovo is working with Synaptics on that.
