Abnormal Noise every 20 seconds (X301)

I bought the x301 thinkpad 4 months ago. Now, I keep hearding abnormal noise originated from the righ side of keyboard.

It's low picth, 1-2 seconds long and coming out every 20 seconds. Sometimes, it's totally gone.

It sounds as the dvd reader is running for 1-2 seconds. Should I concern? i would like to bring it to the lenovo center but i need it for working on my final project.

Any suggestions?

Eject the optical drive and is your hdd ssd or the platter type? Does the noise still come back when your optical drive is ejected?

The abnormal noise is gone after the optical drive's ejected.

I don't know what type of drive is but my laptop model is Thinkpad x301, 2777-MSU

I'm thinking about sending it to the lenovo center. But It sitll works fine.

Can I wait for one more month? I do need it for my final project.

Finally, i successfully fixed it!

I removed the dvd drive from the slot and put it back, secure a screw at the bottom of laptop.

Now, all abnormal noise gone!
