Why do I have this error when I finished reformating my laptop with windows xp ? Some says that it will occur when you install windows xp with a fat partition. But whenever I try to format with NTFS it wont let me. This message comes up after a few minutes.
Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk maybe damage.
Make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to your computer. If the disk is a SCSI disk, make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated. Consult your computer manual or SCSI adapter documentation for more information.
You must select a different partition for Windows XP.
To continue, press Enter.
But when I try the Fat partition. Its all going well, when finished installing the windows xp. And boot in normal mode, the windows logo will appear for a very long time. Then that BSOD Error will appear.
Is it possible to have a disc boot image that will convert fat to ntfs during start-up ? I only know that its possible in a command prompt. Or is there any software that have this capability ? Because I can't get pass the windows logo, that is why I'm asking for a bootable disc.
