Re: Failure to flash the BIOS on X120e

Hi jameZ,

I did read the txt file. Agreed, there was no need to upgrade. I had hoped that would help with the incompatibily problem with the Rosewill usb dvd drive that I just bought.

Also I never suspected that a routine bios upgrade would brick my x120e with no warning. I received no error message. Wished I had some warning.

IBM-Lenovo recovered my x120e. I don't think the MB was replaced. Do you have anyway to find out waht could cause my system to die during the the last step of the bios upgrade. What did they do to repair it? Strictly as a technical question as I am a trained engineer.

Re: Failure to flash the BIOS on X120e

@husky55,

I am unsure what did the service person did as I do not have visibility on it. Also for drive compatibility if the drive is detected at the BIOS level it should be fine. Could be a read error when the drive is reading the CD which the drive burnt? Also do you have any 3rd party RAM installed?

If you want to check what was repaired, maybe you can give me the case ID and I will check with a customer relation person to get the info for me.
