Do you have an authorized service center within driving range? Because that's how I got my panel replaced successfully. The tech there (Ameritech in San Francisco) does better work than the depot in my experience, and they ordered out the panel with any quibbling.

Same for me. I entered a service request in ECS 2 days ago and the technician showed up this morning and replaced the panel - no questions asked. Didn't even care what the issue was. :smileyhappy:

Do I just call up the shop? Or do I have to set up a case with Lenovo support first?

Take it in and show them. And show them the forum messages if necessary.

Re: Faint Ghosting on X220 IPS screen

I bought my X220 with the IPS option in October 2011. I started noticing the ghosting about a month or two ago.

My experience with Lenovo customer service has been truly abysmal so I'm hesitant to ask for warranty assistance. The fact that they still haven't responded to the email I sent them about the issue three weeks ago doesn't bode well. But my warranty runs out in a month - what's the advice, is it worth having no laptop for a couple of weeks to replace the screen?

Re: Faint Ghosting on X220 IPS screen

Hi there!

There is a new, the third generation of IPS screens that marked as LP125WH2 SLB1-SLB3, if anybody uses it, please, report. How is it? Is it somehow better than the previous generations?

Thanks in advance

I've made a mistake it is not LP125WH2 SLB1-SLB3 but LP125WH2 (SL)(B3). You can try to check if you have that screen with AIDA 64. Please, report about the quality. Thanks.
