Hello everyone,
I am a new user to this forum and searched the topics but could not find the answer.
I recently purchased a 100e with 1GB memory. I have purchased 4GB of memory to upgrade the laptop. I have googled how to install the memory, but, have not found the answer (but, did find this forum!).
I have turned the laptop off, removed the battery, removed the screws and back cover. But, when I try to insert the new memory into the slot, it is very tight and does not seem to fit. I do not want to force it. FYI, I have purchased the G.Skill PC2-6400 SO-DIMM which I was told is the right memory for this laptop.
Can someone please help or point me to a video on how to install the memory?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you everyone! I was successfully able to install the 2x 2GB memory.
One last question. Once installed, when I go to my System properties, it says:
Installed Memory: 4GB (2.75 GB usable)
Any idea why it is not running at (or near) full 4GB?

You must be running 32-bit Windows.
32-bit Windows are limited to ~3.3GB maximum addressable memory, no matter how much you have installed, and then the onboard video takes some of that, it could be configurable in BIOS for your x100e, though it isn't for the x120e, and the amount of taken by the onboard video results in ~400MB less available.

TravelTom,
I'm glad you were able to install your memory and to get some great answers from HiVolt and ColonelOneil. (Thanks guys!)
