How to Turn Off Sleep with Lid Closed

Question

I am using my X60 with an external monitor (no docking station) and I would like to turn off the feature that puts the X60 to sleep when I close the lid.  Is there any way to turn off this feature?

Answer

This can easily be configured within Lenovo's power manager application.  

The text and location of the options can change slightly depending on which version of power manager being used.

Under XP:

Double click the green battery icon on the tool bar to launch power manager

Next, click the link for changing what closing the lid does...

Then select "does nothing" and click "OK"
