Hi.
I am glad I stumbled upon this forum and I hope someone could give me precisions or leads about what remains a mystery for me with my X60s.
I bought the machine in January 2007 from a second hand PC store in Japan, at that time she had no OS.
I successfully installed English XP Pro and since then have encountered no problems whatsoever.
What I am worried about is that should the need arise to access SAFE Mode it would be impossible as none of the known Function keys open the SAFE Mode panel.
During boot I have tried in succession the regular F8, and all remaining F keys, and DEL, to no avail.
I have access to the BIOS through F1 or the Blue ThinkVantage button.
At a Japanese PC store, and a Japanese support clerk indicated only F8 as key to access SAFE Mode but were at lost to suggest anything else.
My BIOS version is 2.09 (7BETC8WW), from 2007.03.14, I could not see an option to allow Safe Mode, if such an option ever exists, and as much as possible I would prefer refraining from upgrading the BIOS,
have run into trouble when something went wrong on another machine.
I would appreciate ideas and leads as to how to access SAFE Mode.
In advance, thank you.

OK, I found it,
it was only a bad timing,
have to press F8 after the IBM logo screen appears and not before...
