How to connect to TV

Hi, can anyone advise me how do I connect my X61 to the TV ?

The LCD TV that I have can support PC plug in, however, when I connect my X61 to the TV via the VGA port, nothing is shown on the TV, just a blank blue screen.

Please advise.

you must know the TV's exact resolution and refresh rate.
