Intel Anti Theft on X220

Hi all

i have a brand new X220 i7 that i really like - and would like to keep it to myself! :-)

It is equipped with Intel Anti Theft and i would like to activate it.  As far as i understand, it takes some service provider to activate it and that provider will keep track of the device and send a 'kill-pill' if i request it.

I have contacted Lenovo in Denmark, but they only gave me a link to some company that provide some protection software.

Does anyone know any Intel anti theft service provider in Denmark/Europe??

How about one of these?  I would think that these would be international.

Henrik, I am trying to get a hold of this to my W520 as well. Did you find an online retailer or similar?

Re: Intel Anti Theft on X220

@topmahof

Yeah this is exactly the useless list with obsolete information that Lenovo and Intel still uses.

I am subscriber of Absolute's Computrace. They have dropped Intel AT support due to it "will act before our software that render the tracing of your laptop impossible". And Intel told me that the activation of Intel AT must require a activation code from computer vendor or "some reseller" which they don't have a list.

I have spent like a month investigating how to take advantage of Intel AT and the final answer will be impossible for me. So I brought Computrace, which at least can take advantage of the BIOS embedded Computrace module. BTW it works fine, it really keeps tracking even if the OS gets wiped.

I didn't succed either - so i gave up.

As written by ccl13 the only solution Lenovo could present was the Computrace.  And it doesn't use the Intel security module.  But i think it is very very expencive!

Re: Intel Anti Theft on X220

@motomandk actually it is not, you may google some coupons online and a 3yr subscription will be like 42 dollars.
