Microphone

Sorry for a basic question here but I can't figure it out for myself.

I use skype quite a bit and every time I restart my computer my microphone turns off.  I go into Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel, Voice tab, select Volume in the Voice Recording section and then just Select the device. 

Is there any way to save that setting?  It's quite annoying.

and I should have mentioned...it is an X200s thinkpad...

Hi there,

You might want to check this;

Go to MSCONFIG > Click the services tab> check the " Hide all Microsoft services" box > Look for the "Lenovo Microphone Mute" service then uncheck that box > click ok and restart your Thinkpad.

Remember to adjust your microphone volume to prevent the loud screeching feedback noise.
