New X100e losing Design and Full charge battery capacity

[ Edited ]

Purchased an X100e (35085BG) two weeks ago, very happy with it and impressed so far however have noticed some weirdness with the battery (FRU 42T4855). Have installed all mainboard and battery firmware updates.

Last night it was charged to 100%, I unplugged it from AC supply, used it for a bit and the battery was at around 95% capacity.  At that time the Full charge capacity was showing as around 55Wh (design capacity was about the same also I think).  I closed the lid (so it went into standby), plugged it back into the AC supply, remembered there was something I still needed to do so opened lid again.  Suddenly the battery capacity was showing at 100%, full charge capacity is now 47.51Wh (Design capacity has dropped to 47.52Wh), remaining capacity was around 49Wh.

What's happened here? Has the battery actually become defective or has something got confused?  What do I need to do to restore the full capacity of the battery?

Please advise, thanks.

Re: New X100e losing Design and Full charge battery capacity

Just as an update..

I've tried doing a battery gauge reset today... the full charge and remaining capacity is now showing as 50.19Wh but the design capacity is showing as 47.52Wh still... that makes no sense!  What's going on?!

new battery is like that, it will come to normal after about 10 charge cycles, there is nothing to worry about.
