I have downloaded the latest driver update for "ThinkPad 802.11bgn Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter II", version 1.00.0026.0 for Win7 (32-bit), file 6iws21ww.exe. I run it to extract the files, then proceed to install. I get an error part way through the install:
Unable to execute file C:\drivers\win\wlanrltk\setup.exe
CreateProcess failed: code 740
The requested operation requires elevation.
What does this mean? Why can't I install?
Thanks,
Doug

Hello,
It sounds like the update requires higher privileges to install than are currently available under the logged-in user's account.
Try going to the C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANRLTK\ directory, right-clicking on the SETUP.EXE file, selecting Run as administrator from the popup context menu, and then accepting the User Account Control prompt to allow the software to install.
Does that make any difference?

Yes, that did it! Thanks. This is the only upodate I've seen that behaved this way.
One minor gripe: the update wiped out all of my WiFi passwords :-(
Thanks again!
