Set default brightness in BIOS ? x220

Hello,

It would be great to have the possibility to set the default brightness level in bios (for the boot). Because max brightness can be a little agressive sometime.

does this has already been discussed before ?

I think it should carry over the previous brightness level between sessions.

I have the same question. Older models kept the brightness set from OS when booting. Since I use low brightness this is annoying.

Guys, you can automatically decrease the screen brightness during the start up and 5 other situations. Launch Power Management app, select Global Power Settings, select needed options in Dynamic Brightness Control section. The lower brightness will be about 3..5 of 15.

No, it does not help. Brightness is still set to max in BIOS. It controls it later when the OS is loading.

Re: Set default brightness in BIOS ? x220

With LCD screen beeing so bright at maximum these days (above 250 cd/m²), i can not understand why we can not set up the initial boot up brightness in the bios.

I would be more pleasant when you start your computer in a dark room at night instead of beeing blinded by the big "Thinkpad" logo at 15/15 brightness

For Start Up situation the brightness level is maximum while just the string about the pressing ThinkVantage button appears.
