Unable connect System Update (LNV Prod Center). Error msg: Unable access Proxy server.

I have a X61s Model 27G.
I cannot perform System Update via Lenovo Productivity Center. Gives error msg (in my native language pt) that
unnable access Proxy server.
I have a wireless broadband conx and  access net  without problems. Can someone help?

I think I've posted this in the TVT forum as well, but I'll go ahead and respond here, cos that's easier than tracking down previous posts

It's probably your proxy settings in IE, which is where TVSU gets its network access info.  Do this:

1. Open IE
2. Click Tools -> Internet Options
3. Click Connections Tab
4. Click "LAN Settings" button
5. Check your proxy settings.  Most likely you want to use "Automatically detect settings" and clear any other checkboxes.
6. Click OK
7. Click OK
8. TVSU should work now.

Tried change LAN settings as posted but cannot change into "automatically detect settings".
It allways point to a  script:  http://localhost:9100/proxy.pac .

I've got same problem with my x61. My solution was uninstalling the google web accelerator. After uninstall this, system update is ok. So if you installed google web accelerator, uninstall and try system update again. Good luck!!!

I uninstalled Google Web Accelerator and that fixed the !@#$%^ problem.

my network setitngs are ok and i don't have google accelerator.

Yet i'm encountering this problem, which i seem unable to solve.
