Hello,
I have bough a new wifi card for my X40 XP pro SP3, and it will not work. It does not show up in Device manager. Usually unrecognized hardware will show up with a question mark, but my wifi card is completely invisible to the system. I have tried all drivers I can think of from lenovo and also directly from intel. I also tried intels automatic drivers utility but the card was not recognized. I updated the chipset drivers from intel, but this did not have any effect. My bluetooth is working fine and can be activated/deactivated with Fn+F5.
The card is a WM3B2200BG which I bought second hand.
My X40 is a 2371-79G
Wifi is activated in bios.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Hi ele80 and welcome to the community,
Are you getting any kind of error at startup? 1802? Do you know if the card came out of a Lenovo?
Make sure the contacts are clean. Use a pencil eraser to clean them with if they are at all questionable.
Other than that, it sounds like you might have gotten a bad card. How about your old card? Does it still work?

Wow, that did actually work! Amazing. I guess the pins got oxidized from not being used for a long time. Thank you so much for your help!
