Will System Update work if I change my Hard Drive?

Question

I am considering changing my 7200rpm HD with a new Intel Solid-State Drive 520 Series 180 GB.How will this influence the use of System Update? Will it be able to detect and work with my new hardware, or will it stop working?

Answer

You should have no problem with System Update following your drive upgrade.

 

Changing the drive will not void your warranty as long as you don't cause damage by improper installation.

 

Tip: the drive is what is known as a "Self-service CRU" (Customer Replaceable Unit).- Refer to Page 98(http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=UM006394)
