X Series Laptops Shipping discussion (2012) [ Edited ]

Well, first off, hello everyone !
I've been a happy Lenovo user for a while now, but I just ordered a new Laptop and I was wondering if anyone had the same experience.

Ordered a x121e with a keayboard and a sleeve on the French website [since I live in France now] the 05/02.

Bank wire received the 05/05, so far so good.
Then things started to get hairy...
Only the sleeve has been shipped so far [on the 10th] and keeps going back and forth between China / Hong Kong and Korea...
I know they sometimes keep one package waiting for the others in order to deliver everything at once but to be honest, i would've hoped it all ships in one package...

I have ordered a thinkpad X220 on 12/05/2012 and the shipping date was mentioned as 21st.

Since 3 days it is having a status of "Released to manufacturing"

Any idea when it will be shipped and when I will receive in Washington..

Ordered new X1 Carbon on 5/24/2012. Estimated ship date 6/4/2012. Chatted with order support today and was told it would ship this week. Just saw update online that it is now scheduled to ship 6/29/2012. WTH?

Are you sure you didn't order the previous generation X1? They haven't released the X1 Carbon yet (as far as I know).

Yes, I'm sure. I ordered it first day available. They have since taken it off the site due to demand. Now I've gotten it has shipped and should arrive Tuesday.

Well, if you're telling the truth... I'm terribly, terribly jealous! But hopeful too now, I wasn't expecting it to ship before August. Will you post your impressions of it online somewhere?

Hi everyone! So I placed an order for my first Lenovo, an X220, July 3 during the 4th of July sales they were having. I just checked the order status through the link provided by the confirmation email and they estimated the shipping date as 10/11/2012 ?! On the website it estimated shipping by 7/10 but I figured with the demand and such that I'd be satisfied if I got my laptop around late August but to wait 3 months before it even ships! I'm going to give the reps a call to see how accurate my estimation is (but who knows if they'll tell the truth). But right now I guess I'm trying to figure out how long I should wait before cancelling (and from others on the forum I saw that the reps wont let you cancel in certain circumstances) OR if theres a chance that it ships out super super early (crossing fingers) Any advice??

Although I was told when I ordered my X1 that it was the Carbon and that it was just taken down due to demand, it was not. When the package finally arrived I was disappointed to find it was the original X1. I am now reconsidering whether I will order it in August when it supposed to be available or if I will even order another Lenovo product.

The order status page is up. I just ordered my new x230t! So excited. Estimated ship date is 7/31/12. Will let you guys know how it goes.
