X1 HDMI output to Display port - is it possible

Hi

 

I have a X1 1293-CTO model laptop, with HDMI output, does this only work with external monitors with HDMI input or will it go into Display port.

 

I have a HDMI to Display Port cable but its not detecting my monitor.

The HDMI doesn't support HDMI to Displayport, it can support HDMI to DVI-D.

X1 has a mini-Displayport just get a mini-Displayport to Displayport converter cable.

OK thanks, just wanted to confirm.

 

Yes I am now using the mini display port and working nicely.
