Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Same error with downgrade from 1.20a to all other versions. Now I'm going to restore the system again.

I am disappointed by the support of Lenovo.

I hope that they resolve the bug quickly.

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Nothing to do. System recovery did not solve the problem. Now the "lenovo think" and the "lenovo thinkvantage tools" icon works.

I unscrewed the bottom panel and I uninstalled and reinstalled the hardware, but had no effect.

I found a missing screw to lock the WWAN card.

Today I will call the support to find a solution or send the product back because does not work for me!

Today I sent my X100e to the Lenovo Repair Center.

Replacing the Gobi module and alle other tricks didn't worked for me.

Hi again

LENOVO has to do something about this issue now!!!!!!!

Our rollout with more than 100   X100 is put on hold

This gives Lenovo a really bad reputation.

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Hello everybody,

I have opened an ESR last Sunday and finally received a call from Lenovo. The first suggestion was to disable, reboot and enable the WWAN and WIMAX devices in the IO settings of the security section in the BIOS. Which obviously didn't help in the past and as well didn't help now.

The Lenovo employee said that he'll escalate the problem and asked me to downgrade to the old 1.10a BIOS level until a new BIOS version is published.

I'll keep on updating this thread with details as soon as I hear something new.

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Hello erverybody,

I've called lenovo support. I'm waiting until a new BIOS version is released then I'll bring the notebook in a repair center.

I have a question in my mind... I have workerd with an IBM R52, IBM X40, IBM X41, Lenovo X61 Tablet and Lenovo X61, Lenovo T60... When Lenovo decide to release somenthing, rather then value line, that do not work?

A Thinkpad is a Thinkpad not a normal notebook that I can buy in a mall!!!!

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Hi All

anybody knows what to do with this Gobi Hell issue,

I have same issue here in Israel with a brand new X100E with the GPS that right now does not work with the new Bios. IBM support  knows nothing about this major problem, and asked me to bring in the machine.

rolling back old bios did not work as well

thanks to all

Re: X100e BIOS Problems with WWAN Device Gobi 2000

Hi All,

I just got a new X100e today. After upgrade to BIOS v1.11 the WWAN and GPS stopped working. However, rolling back to v1.10 fixed things for me. I didn't try any other tricks or the newest version v1.20 of BIOS.

I hope there's soon going to be a new working BIOS, since it would be nice to get the other updates too.

Regards,

  Juho

[ Edited ]

Regarding to the Gobi 2000 WWAN, i'm concerning if it is locked to AT&T or factory unlocked that you can use with any GSM/CDMA 3G carrier?

i intend to get a X100e this week for going abroad business

Can some body help to clarify that

Thanks
