X100e C drive, what is it?

Trying to install a fresh XP on a wiped X100e, but it keeps installing to E: . Im installing from a external USB CD drive using an XP install boot disk. I wrote 0's to every sectore of the HD using the Lenovo DOS disk utility tool that took 44 minutes so I assume there are no hidden partions on the hard drive (?) . XP install reported that the only partition it saw was unformatted so that is where it was going to go but it turned out to be E:. Everything wants to install to C: by default so I was wondering what or where is the C: in this? Do I have to unplug the USB cable to the right hand USB card? I need to get this working by this weekend so any assistance would be appreciated  68pishta at Gmail.com

Re: X100e C drive, what is it?

If you install starting from CD/USB the first partition that xp installation will see is the hidden partition usually called S:.

There are 3 partition on a brand new X100. S: C: and Q:, but the installation names the partitions in order C: D: and E:.

So just remove the other partition when you are going to install (you will loose the f11 restore function) or just install in D:
